District Vitality Grant Process

Dear Friends, Our commitment is to the vitality and fruitfulness of each congregation in the Metro District.  One of the ways we seek to strengthen the vitality of local churches and increase the impact local churches  have in their communities is through District Vitality grants.  Your connectional giving makes this possible, so thank you for your generosity. As you are likely aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the financial resources of the church at every level.  But God is good and to date we have been able to honor the grant commitments we made in 2020.  In order to be good stewards in this time of uncertainty and continue to provide vitality grants for local churches, we will initially be providing smaller grants with a more narrow focus in 2021.  We will offer a limited number of $1,000 grants that address the following areas:
  1. New or expanded ministries or initiatives that engage technological updates to improve communication with people during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

  2. New or expanded ministries and initiatives that demonstrate focused and measurable efforts to take the church beyond the walls by listening to our communities and neighbors and that build relationships with neighbors and community partners in order to address the needs and challenges facing our neighbors and communities.

  3. New or expanded ministries that demonstrate intentional, creative, measurable efforts to make disciples and increase the leadership capacity and impact of the laity.

We will monitor connectional giving as we move into 2021 and as funds are available we may consider a second grant cycle.  Thank you for your generous support of the connectional giving of our District and Conference and the investment in local churches and communities that giving represents.  This is truly ministry that we do together and that transforms lives and communities in the name of Jesus Christ. If you have questions about the 2021 Metro District Vitality grant process please contact the District office.
